Director, Financial Reporting

Location: Vancouver, BC
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director, Financial Reporting is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Financial Reporting and Accounting teams, ensuring the preparation of accurate, timely and relevant financial information to management and external stakeholders.  S/he collaborates with the Finance Leadership Team to improve and optimize processes, leverage technology and develop their teams.
 
As a key member of the Finance team you will make an impact at Aritzia by: 
  • Overseeing all aspect of financial reporting operations, including preparation of quarterly financial statements, note disclosures, management discussion and analysis and presentation materials for Audit Committee meetings
  • Leading the Company’s evaluation of technical IFRS accounting matters, including those related to complex transactions, emerging areas, and adoption of new accounting standards
  • Oversees all aspects of accounting operations, including all transactions related to general ledger, receivables and inventory
  • Acting as the primary advisor to senior management and liaise with auditors on complex accounting issues

  • CPA or equivalent
  • Progressive management experience in a public company
  • Well-developed leadership skills, with an ability to motivate and mentor team members
  • Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to build relationships at the executive level and cross-functionally
  • Technical aptitude; experience in finance related technology implementations and / or upgrades is an asset
