Senior Manager, External Reporting

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
As the Senior Manager, External Reporting you are responsible for providing accurate, timely and relevant financial information to management and external stakeholders.  Capitalizing on exceptional technical skills, strong business acumen and well developed leadership abilities, s/he partners closely with the Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis Departments to ensure the highest possible standards are maintained.  
As a key member of the Finance team, you will make an impact at Aritzia by:
  • Ensuring timely and accurate quarterly filings, including the financial statements, note disclosures and management discussion and analysis
  • Recommending, establishing, documenting and maintaining accounting policies in compliance with IFRS; effectively researching and communicating accounting changes and impact to the Company
  • Supporting the ongoing build out of external reporting processes, including expanded use of financial tools and participation in process improvement initiatives

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE                                                         
As either a growing professional or one who is seasoned in your craft, you use your smarts and experience to hit the ground running. You look past what ‘is’ and see what ‘could be,’ always keeping the end goal in mind. In addition, you have:
  • CPA or equivalent
  • Public company reporting experience
  • Well-developed leadership skills, with an ability to motivate and mentor team members
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate financial information to the business
  • Strong technical accounting aptitude and desire to work in systems
