Senior Solutions Architect

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
As the Senior Solutions Architect, you are an integral member of Aritzia’s Information Technology team focusing on the architecture, design, documentation and successful implementation of technologies for different areas of the business. By partnering with stakeholders you will develop an expert understanding of Aritzia’s business needs to ensure the technology architecture is aligned and ready to support the business now and in the future. Reporting to the Director of IT Architecture, you will collaborate closely with the Technology Owners for Retail, Digital, Supply Chain, Product, Marketing, and Corporate.In addition, you will make an impact at Aritzia by:
  • Constantly following technology trends, evaluating maturity and enterprise readiness of new products/technologies and making recommendations; identifying opportunities to further leverage our existing technology investments
  • Developing technology standards, architectural policies and frameworks for Aritzia
  • Overseeing the process of new technology introduction; reviewing technical requirements, evaluating vendor presentations/product demonstrations and making recommendations for vendor selection
  • Designing solutions that demonstrate fulfilment of business objectives, technical and non-functional requirements, and ensuring overall solutions meets our business’ requirements
  • Reviewing and approving detailed technical designs to ensure alignment to architectural standards
  • Contributing to the development of our people by conducting workshops on emergent technologies & trends, and evangelizing architectural best practices

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE                                                            
As a seasoned professional in your craft, you use your experience to drive business results through inspirational and effective leadership of your team. As an entrepreneur you look past what ’is’ and see what ‘could be,’ with recognition that it takes collaboration, detail and heart to be successful. In addition, you have:
  • 7-10 years progressive experience in IT, ideally within an apparel/retail environment
  • An advanced understanding of modern IT capabilities, methods and technologies; ability to design and document complex solution architectures through to the technical implementation
  • Expertise in the selection, architecture, design and implementation of complete systems (applications, infrastructure, and security)
  • Experience implementing and supporting business applications (e.g., ERP, POS, WMS, CRM, HRIS) and a wide range of infrastructure technology (e.g., compute, storage, network, security) in a production environment
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachmann, UAF) and modeling approaches (e.g., UML, BPMN, ArchiMate)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and systems analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated influencing skills, high level of technical and team leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively with business resources
