Head of Trade Compliance

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
As the Head of Trade Compliance, you will have the opportunity to build and manage Aritzia’s trade compliance strategy, policy and programs to minimize trade costs and ensure compliance with export and import laws and regulations.
As a key member of the Supply Chain department, you will make an impact at Aritzia by: 
  • Ensuring all legislation, regulatory and other requirements relating to the import and export of goods are met
  • Developing trade strategy and build policies, processes and procedures
  • Managing all government and regulatory compliance programs
  • Managing and developing the Trade Compliance team
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE                                                              
As a seasoned professional in your craft, you use your experience to drive business results through inspirational and effective leadership of your team. As an entrepreneur you look past what ’is’ and see what ‘could be,’ with recognition that it takes collaboration, detail and heart to be successful.
In addition, you have:
  • Experience in International Trade Compliance and/or import & export
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership in a similar role
  • Apparel industry experience
  • Experience working with an ERP
  • Solid understanding of customs regulations, valuation and classification in the Textiles industry
  • Understands country of origin and marking issues, record keeping requirements, audits and risk assessments, and supply chain security regulations as they relate to cross-border and international imports/exports
  • Post-secondary education along with customs broker’s license (CCS or CTCS designations) an asset
